Novotel Luxembourg Aeroport is the best all-round pick at around $140 — walking distance to the terminal, free parking, decent restaurant, and the tram T1 to Kirchberg and the centre runs from right outside. Hilton Garden Inn Luxembourg Aeroport is newer, slightly nicer rooms at $170 but no better located. Ibis Aeroport is the honest budget choice at $95 with a shuttle.
Skip or splurge?
For a 6am flight, any of the three above make sense — the tram takes 15 minutes into town and starts around 5am, so there's no real advantage to staying in the centre unless you want to sightsee. If you have a whole day, book central and take the free tram to the airport; the airport hotels have no atmosphere and the surrounding area is office parks and a Cargolux hangar.
