Reliable chargers, city hotels

Sofitel Luxembourg Europe in Kirchberg has four Chargy points in its underground garage, all 22 kW AC and free once you pay the €25/night parking. Mélia Luxembourg next door has two 22 kW points, same setup. DoubleTree by Hilton in Dommeldange has installed six chargers including two 50 kW DC — the best fast-charge option attached to a hotel in the country.

In the centre, Le Royal has two chargers in its valet garage but they are often blocked by house cars; call ahead. Hôtel Simoncini in Ville Haute has no on-site charging but points you to the Knuedler public chargers a two-minute walk away, which is honest and usually fine.

Airport, motorway and countryside

Hilton Luxembourg near Findel has eight chargers and it is the easiest EV stop if you are flying in and picking up a car. Ibis Luxembourg Aéroport has two Chargy points, free with parking. Novotel Luxembourg Kirchberg has four points that rarely fill up.

Outside the city, Hôtel Théâtre in Esch-sur-Alzette has two 22 kW chargers, and the Domaine Thermal in Mondorf has four covered points in its main garage. In Vianden, Hôtel Belle-Vue has one wallbox — reserve it when you book because there is only one. Avoid assuming small country hotels have anything; most still don’t.

Does the Chargy network cost extra at hotels?

Chargy sessions are billed to your own Chargy or roaming card at €0.30/kWh peak, €0.20 off-peak. The hotel usually only charges for the parking space.

Can I fast-charge overnight?

22 kW AC is standard at hotels and fully charges most EVs overnight. Only DoubleTree Dommeldange offers 50 kW DC on site.
