Rooms from around €160. Hôtel-Restaurant Simon's Plaza in the same town is cheaper and family-run, without the spa but with the same river.

Hôtel de la Poste in Ehnen sits in the prettiest wine village on the Luxembourg side, next to the wine museum. Six rooms, book months ahead for autumn weekends. Mercure Hostellerie Stafelter in Walferdange is not on the Moselle but is the closest three-star with easy transfer to the vineyards.

Domaine Viticole Cep d’Or in Hëttermillen rents four guest rooms above the winery — you taste, sleep, walk the vines at dawn. Domaine Sunnen-Hoffmann in Remerschen offers similar with an organic focus. These are not hotels in the service sense; expect a self-service breakfast and an owner who is out pruning at 07:00.

Château de Schengen anchors the southern end of the wine route with 27 rooms and a proper restaurant, right where the tripoint monument sits. If you want to walk into France or Germany after breakfast, this is the address. Skip Grevenmacher's chain hotels unless you specifically need the ferry — the atmosphere is worth the extra 15 minutes down the road.
