From Place Guillaume II, cut through Rue du Curé to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, then down to Plateau du Saint-Esprit for the first gorge view. Follow the Corniche north past the Wenzel Wall to the Bock, drop into the casemates if open, then loop back via Rue Sigefroi and Rue de l'Eau. About 75 minutes with photo stops. Ville Haute is reachable in about 20 minutes on foot across the Passerelle bridge, or 8 minutes on the free tram T1 from Gare Centrale to Hamilius; with luggage, take the tram.
When to go
Spring and early autumn are the most comfortable seasons for the Corniche walk. July and August bring cruise-style tour groups by mid-morning, and the exposed cliff path offers almost no shade. Early morning, before 9am, gives the clearest light on the Alzette gorge and the fewest tour groups blocking the viewpoints. Sunset works too, especially from Plateau du Saint-Esprit, though the path gets busy with photographers in summer. Avoid midday in July and August, when the stone walkway holds heat and offers no shade.
