From Neumünster Abbey, follow the Alzette north along Rue Münster past the old stone bridges, under the Passerelle du Grund, then continue on the river path into Clausen. You'll pass the Mousel brewery buildings before emerging at Rives de Clausen — roughly one hour flat walking, then a steep climb back up or the lift. Bring water in summer, as there is no shade for the last stretch and no shops open before the bars start their evening service. The free Pfaffenthal panoramic lift runs from Plateau du Saint-Esprit and stays open until 1am. Driving into the lanes is not advised: they are narrow and one-way, and parking is nearly zero — use the Saint-Esprit car park up top.

Grund runs on two clocks. In daylight the abbey courtyard, the Wenzel Wall trail and the river path are free and pleasant, and before 11am the lanes are yours alone. After dark the bars and riverside terraces take over, and by 9pm on a Friday they are three-deep.
