Weimerskirch is easy to miss. It's a strip of old houses along the Alzette between Pfaffenthal and Dommeldange, with the Pont Grande-Duchesse Charlotte arcing overhead and Kirchberg's institutional buildings looming above the north cliff. The village has a bakery, a couple of small restaurants, a chapel, and not much else. What it offers is atmosphere — one of the last places in the greater city center that still feels like a hamlet rather than a district. The Alzette bike path runs right through.

Stay here for silence and river walks, or as a cheaper Kirchberg substitute if you don’t mind the funicular ride. Skip if you need any nightlife or a range of restaurants at hand — you have essentially two dinner options within walking distance. Rooms are limited to a couple of B&Bs and small hotels. The isolation is charming for two nights and constricting after four.

Bus 25 connects Weimerskirch to Hamilius in about 12 minutes and to Kirchberg in 5 minutes. The Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg funicular is a 10-minute walk from the village core. From the airport, bus 16 to Hamilius then bus 25, about 40 minutes total. Cycling to Kirchberg or Pfaffenthal takes 5-10 minutes via the river path. Walking is pleasant but the village is a genuine dead-end for pedestrians heading further north.
